The time is flying and few weeks ago, I was not only back to Playtime International Children’s Trade Show to look for new and interesting French Children’s products but also to celebrate their 20th edition and their 10th Birthday!
That’s always a pleasure to wander through the aisles and discover beautiful creations from amazing Independent Designers. As you probably already know, my mission is to bring the French Touch in the UK so I am only selecting the best French Designers even if I have seen many other interesting designers.
Here are a non exhaustive selection for the new season.
Pouce et Lina Musical Mobiles
Pouce et Lina is the French specialist of hand-made Musical Mobiles. Their little modern melodies and cute little characters: unicorns, elephants, rabbits, birds or flamingos will help baby to fall asleep and the Oeko-Tex fabrics will ensure that it’s safe for baby.
Mellipou Music boxes
The Music has always been in Marie’s life from the stage where she was dancing, singing and acting to her studio where she creates modern music boxes with funky fabrics and famous melodies. Darth Vader was in the stand to promote the new Star War melody.
Melanie recreated and brought, the first knitted shoes made by a grand-mother, up to date. That’s the perfect gift for a newborn baby and they are customizable which make them so unique.
Learning, developing through play and tidying up are key at an early stage, that’s the reason why we fell in love with Deuz mini tents at the first sight. Now the range is getting bigger with 1 new Blue pattern and some cute little sleeping bags for the dolls.
I find it hard to find nice bed linen for Children. That’s often a bit dull or too childish. On the contrary, the Home collection of Le Petit Lucas du Tertre is vibrant. That’s why I love it so much.
Classic Fashion revisited! Those children’s outfits are versatile, for indoor or outdoor use. Their famous Burnou is very practical and can be worn as a robe or as a jacket. Made with the finest materials, they are ultra comfy.
That’s always a pleasure to stop at Lucien Zazou stand as we are sure to find a nice surprise. This time, we were carried away between the Sea and the Clouds. A little twist to the sailor stripes with the boat and the Lucien Zazou signature clouds, now in a comic strip style.
A throwback with those sun jelly shoes. I remember I had the grey ones to go to the beach. They were quite distinctive with their round form, their straps and their dotted gripped soles. Now the range is wide with many different shapes, even boots. And they are still all made in France.
Those classic children’s costumes are made of the finest materials and can be worn in different occasions, not just as a fancy dress. A lot of them are also unisex so that you could re-use it for the sister or the brother.
Aurelie, mother of 3 created a children’s cosmetics brand as she wanted to share her beauty secrets with her daughters with some products adapted to their delicate skin. Her products are free from parabens, volatile organic solvent, nitrocellulose, azo-dye and animal ingredients and the colours are soft, perfect for girls from 4 to 12 years old.
The Kid Show took place at the same time as Playtime, in the heart of Paris. That was only the 4th edition but it’s growing from strength to strength. They offer dedicated spaces similar to a showroom to the 70 exhibitors so they needed more space. They haves moved again to a bigger industrial building full of charm near Republique – Paris 10.
Jeanne developed for her baby an eco-friendly concept that combines comfort, ethic and security: Chic baby slings 100% Organic and 100% practical. You can just slip baby in the sling with no complicated buckles, snaps, wrap or hardware.
To avoid to mismatch the prominent bib with baby’s outfit, Julie created the elegant and convenient Kaxki outfit with the bib becoming the Chic finishing touch. To offer softness and safety for baby skin, these outfits are made of 100% cotton and the bib is certified Oeko-Tex 100.
” A long journey home”, the new Minabulle collection is inspired by a recent travel to Thailand…A simpler collection still Made in France with bright and warm colours.
The Limoges porcelain of Non sans raison. All the plates and cups have a specific games drawn on them to keep your kids occupied.
